Chris De Rosa presents his international award winning act, The Art of Illusion. With over 21 years experience working professionally as a magician/illusionist. He is currently Scotland's only large-scale Illusionist with the unique ability to perform, build and design stage illusions and effects. 

 

Chris has a long family history of being involved with magic. Indeed his Great Uncle was the only blind conjurer to tour the Old Music Halls of the 1800's. The stories of hie family heritage started Chris on his journey to create The Art of Illusion. Since turning professional at 16, he has never looked back! One of his biggest achievements was previously being awarded British Magical Champion of Illusion by the worlds largest magic convention in Blackpool by his peers. During his 2​2​ year career he has

worked aboard cruise ships for P&O Oceana, Fred Olsen MS Boudicca, MS Black Watch and MS Braemar and Louis Cruise Lines in Cyprus. 

 

Chris has performed and starred in revue shows for Solverde Casinos in the Algarve in Portugal in his own production called It's Magic, where he designed and constructed all of the illusions as featured in the show. Originally contracted for 3 months, but was extended to 7 months due to the shows success. Another exciting adventure was being asked to perform exclusively for Hong Kong Tourist Board for 1 night only, live in Victoria Park in downtown Hong Kong. The show was backed live by The New Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra and a cast of 40 performers which he made vanish at the end live on stage. the show was broadcast live to the whole of China to millions of people  He also created, co-directed and starred in 2 different illusion productions for Flamingo Land Theme Park in North Yorkshire during 2009 and 2010 for the resident guests. The show ran for 9 months in each year. this involved Chris staying on park in the first 2 months where he designed and built the shows special effects and illusions on site.

 

He is also no stranger to the corporate market as he regularly engages in some very high profile product launches and glamorous award ceremonies, such as the 2012 Health Care Awards at Lords Cricket Ground in March 2012 where he guest appeared alongside Sir David Frost OBE.  Chris is no stranger to working with celebrities as he creates illusions and effects involving celebrities too, such as Girls Aloud, where he was asked to create an illusion to allow Cheryl Cole to vanish and reappear during the 2006 Chemistry Tour of Girls Aloud. As well as pop stars asking for his effects, other well known house hold names have knocked on his magical door. Stars such as Jim Davidson, The Krankies, Cheryl Cole, Girls Aloud, World Famous Choreographer Beth Honnan, as well as various productions including celebrity performers for The Scottish Opera, BBC, CBBC, The ICC Birmingham, Doha Exhibition Centre, and 16 years of magic consultancy for Glasgow Pavilion Theatre and many more.

 

His work has taken him all over the world and continues to perform in countries such as USA, Qatar, Cyprus, China, Russia, Egypt, Germany, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Italy, and Portugal amazing audiences in Casinos, Arenas, Hotels, Corporate Events, theme parks, TV and Pantomimes.
